The Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba and Astral Media Radio broadcast live each year from the Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg for the Astral Media National Day of Caring For Kids Radiothon. Radio hosts Ace Burpee and Chrissy Troy from Hot 103, and Caroline Hunter and Mike Alan from QX 104 were live on location on May 5, 2011, devoting their time and energy to raise money for the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Each year, the Foundation also presents the Caring for Kids Radiothon in Brandon, which took place live from Shopper's Mall with Frank McGwire from KX 96 and Tim Black from 101.1 The Farm on May 5, 2011.
The Caring For Kids Radiothon gives listeners the opportunity to hear first-hand stories from children that have fought hard for their lives, as well as the struggles their families have faced and continue to face everyday.
