The Legends of Rock Return! The Capital One Grand Slam of curling will hit the ice with the BDO Canadian Open in support of the Children’s Hospital Foundation from January 21-25, 2009 at the MTS Centre. 18 of the world’s best teams will be in Winnipeg, including: World Champions Kevin Martin (Edmonton, Alta.), Glenn Howard (Coldwater, Ont.), Randy Ferbey (Edmonton, Alta.), Kerry Burtnyk (Winnipeg, Man.), Jeff Stoughton (Winnipeg, Man.), Wayne Middaugh (Midland, Ont.), Greg McAulay (Richmond, B.C.) and Olympic gold medallist Brad Gushue (St. John’s, Nfld.).
For the first time ever at a major curling event, individual tickets for each draw, including the finals, are available for purchase from the opening day of ticket sales. Individual draws start at only $12.00 for adults and $10.75 for students and seniors. Full event packages begin at $99.00 for adults and $90.00 for students and seniors.

The Capital One Grand Slam of Curling events are closely tied to the Canadian Curling Association's qualifying process for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Through their performance in the Capital One Grand Slam of Curling events, rinks can earn a significant amount of points towards securing a berth at the 2009 Canadian Trials.
