AN INCREDIBLE $628,000 RAISED FOR CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

AT CARING FOR KIDS RADIOTHON

Winnipeg – An incredible $628,000 was raised at the Astral Media Caring For Kids Radiothon on HOT 103 and QX 104 in support of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.

“The unwavering support we receive from HOT 103 and QX 104 and their listeners, makes a very real, measurable impact in the way that sick children are treated at Winnipeg Children’s Hospital and we can’t thank them enough for that support,” said Lesia Sianchuk, Executive Director of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba Inc.

Emerging Information Systems Inc. (EISI) and its employees once again made a huge impact with their generosity. Before the event began, EISI put a challenge out to its employees. Whatever employees, their families and friends donated, the company would match. Once more, the owner of EISI would also personally match the donations. In the end, between EISI employees and their families, EISI’s corporate match and owner Mark Evans, over $100,000 was donated to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.

“Many thanks to Ace, Chrissy, Caroline, Mookie and Troy for their tireless effort in working with the heroic patients and families from Children’s Hospital and helping them share their stories,” said Sianchuk. “We are so fortunate to have such wonderful ambassadors for the Foundation and the Hospital in all of them.”

Special thanks to Foresters, a financial services provider and the international sponsor of the Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon program. Thank you to RBC, sponsors of the Miracle Phone lines, and presenting sponsors: Pizza Hotline, Manitoba Metis Federation, Giant Tiger, Maples Surgical Centre, Dufresne, Earls, Tiber River Naturals, Blockbuster and Tim Hortons for caring for kids.

This year the Foundation has committed over $5 million in support of child health and pediatric research, programs and equipment at Children’s Hospital and the Manitoba Institute of Child Health, our research division. We continue to reach these goals through the support of our donors and community partners.
