The mission of the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba Inc. is to be an independent agency whose purpose is to raise and distribute funds for the advancement of knowledge and care in the fields of child health and child health research, thereby contributing to the improved health of children everywhere.

The Kids We Help

Meet Charlotte

In July of 2008, at 11 years old, aspiring singer/songwriter/guitarist Charlotte Kosc had made it to the top six of YTV’s The Next Star in Toronto. She had been dealing with a bit of a cold during the competition, but began to get progressively worse. Charlotte’s mom, Kathy, decided to take her to the hospital where she was eventually diagnosed with viral meningitis and pneumonia in her right lung – this would mean the end of the competition for Charlotte. Charlotte was devastated.

Meet Brittney, Our 2011/12 Champion Child

When Brittney Fox was three years old she didn’t ask Santa for a baby doll or a princess outfit for Christmas. All she wished for was to go home.

For the first few years of Brittney’s life, her days were spent inside the walls of a hospital hooked up to IVs and a gastronomy tube, surrounded by doctors and nurses at Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg.
